OPEC and its allies to hold extraordinary general meeting on Apr. 17-18

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will hold an extra ordinary full ministerial meeting on April 17, while the cartel’s non-OPEC partners will join for a full OPEC+ meeting on the following day, an OPEC official told S&P Global Platts on Thursday, according to oilprice.com. 

The meeting has been called to discuss the current state of the oil market and whether or not to extend the production cuts which currently expire in June.
