US midterm elections: Republican Cruz take slim lead in Texas Senate race

After first exit polls showed that Democratic candidate O'Rourke was in a comfortable lead over incumbent Republican Cruz, the gap narrowed as votes continued to be counted and just recently Cruz took a slim lead. Although experts all agree that Republicans will stay in control of the Senate, losing a key state could hurt Trump's reputation.

Meanwhile, "Phil Bredesen, the Democratic Senate candidate from Tennessee has lost to Republican Marsha Blackburn. It’s more bad news for Democrats from one of the red states that they had a decent shot at flipping their way. The Senate map is looking even worse for them," reported Clare Malone, a senior political writer for FiveThirtyEight.
