EUR/USD drops below 1.3500

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The EUR/USD continues to inch lower at the beginning of the American session, as ECB President Draghi speaks before the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament.

EUR/USD under pressure

Even though the USD weakened broadly following disappointing US manufacturing PMI, EUR/USD fell to fresh daily lows, with Draghi reiterating ECB is ready to act, including another LTRO program. Regarding Greece, ECB President said it is premature to ask if the Hellenic country would need a third program.

EUR/USD levels to watch

Having broken below the 1.3500 psychological mark, EUR/USD is currently trading at the 1.3485 zone, where it records a 0.4% loss on the day. In terms of technical levels, Valeria Bednarik, chief analyst at FXstreet.com notes EUR/USD holds a slight bearish tone, and locates immediate supports at 1.3480, 1.3450 and 1.3420, while she sees resistances at 1.3540, 1.3570 and 1.3620.

ECB's Draghi sees gradual recovery in the Eurozone

Speaking before the European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, ECB president Mario Draghi said that the economic situation in the Eurozone should continue improving gradually, supported by a boost in domestic demand.
