Beige Book: US economy continued to expand despite headwinds
FXStreet (Córdoba) - US economy continued to expand across most regions from mid-February through the end of March, according to the Beige Book, although headwinds from the stronger dollar, low oil prices and harsh winter weather were noted.
Most of Fed Districts reported labor markets remained stable or continued to improve modestly. However, layoffs related to the decline in oil and gas prices were reported in multiple Districts. Difficulty finding skilled workers was frequently reported.
As for prices, Districts noted modest upward pressure on wages and overall prices.
