GBP/USD fails to hold above 1.5700

FXStreet (Córdoba) - GBP/USD peaked during the American session at 1.5716, but failed to hold and pulled back below 1.5700. Currently trades at 1.5676, 25 pips above yesterday's closing price.

Cable is rising for the second day in a row as the US dollar plunged across the board. The pair was able to erase losses as it dropped earlier to 1.5627, after weak economic data from the United Kingdom. While a better-than-expected JOLTS report in the US, failed to boost greenback.

GBP/USD at important resistance

The recovery of the pair brought the price near an important short term resistance located between 1.5715 and 1.5725 that has been limited the upside since last Wednesday. A break higher could open the doors for more gains.
