US: Initial Jobless Claims fell to 340K
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - According to the Labour Department, the Americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits fell by 23K last week to a seasonally adjusted 340K in the week ended May 17, below expectations at 345K and coming from 363K (revised) in the previous print.
Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, fell by 112K to a seasonally adjusted 2.912 million in the week ended May 11 vs. 3.024 million in the previous week (revised).
